This privacy policy explains what we do with any personal information you give us through this website. Zacharie Pearson Painting & Decorating is the data controller for that information.

What we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us. If you fill in the contact form, that will usually be your name, telephone number, email address and whatever you tell us about the work you want doing. If you call, email or message us on WhatsApp instead, we hold whatever you send us in that message.

We do not ask for payment card details through this website, and you should never send them to us by email or message.

Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a visit
  • To prepare and send you a quote
  • To carry out and invoice work you have asked us to do
  • To keep records we are required to keep for tax purposes

The lawful basis is normally that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, or to perform a contract with you. Where it is not, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services.

We will not add you to a marketing list or send you newsletters.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing. We may share it where we genuinely have to — for example with our accountant, or if we are required to by law.

The contact form on this site is provided by JotForm, and submissions pass through and are stored on their systems. Their privacy policy applies to that processing in addition to ours. The map on our contact page is embedded from Google Maps, and Google may set cookies when it loads.

How long we keep it

If you make an enquiry and we do not end up doing any work for you, we delete the enquiry once it is clear it is not going anywhere. If we do work for you, we keep the job and invoice records for six years, which is the period HMRC requires.

Photographs of work

We sometimes photograph finished work for our website and social media. These are photographs of rooms and buildings, not of people, and we do not publish addresses. If you would rather we did not photograph your property, just say so — it is not a problem, and it will not affect anything else.

Cookies

This website does not set any tracking or advertising cookies of its own, and there is no analytics tracking on it. Content embedded from third parties — the JotForm contact form and the Google Maps panel — may set their own cookies when those parts of the page load. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, and in many cases to have it deleted. You can also object to how we are using it. To do any of that, just contact us using the details above and we will deal with it within one month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page. This version was last updated in February 2026.
