External decorating in Wythenshawe

We are based in Wythenshawe, so exterior work here is about as local as it gets for us and there is no travel loaded into the quote.

The 1920s and 1930s housing across the area typically has painted render or pebbledash over brick, timber or replacement windows, and timber fascias, soffits and bargeboards. On houses of this age the render has usually been painted several times already, and the state of those earlier coats is what determines how much preparation the job needs.

Anything blown, flaking or hollow gets cut out and made good before a new coat goes anywhere near it. Chalky or previously unpainted areas are stabilised first. Where the old coating is sound, it gets washed down, treated for algae and painted with two full coats of masonry paint.

Original timber fascias and bargeboards on these properties are often the part that has suffered most. Rather than replacing them, we can usually cut out the decay and rebuild the section in resin as a Repair Care Approved Contractor, then prime and paint it as part of the same job.
