External Decorating in Bollington
External decorating in Bollington
Bollington sits high and exposed on the western edge of the Peak District, and the weather here is genuinely harder on exterior paintwork than it is a few miles down in the Cheshire plain. Wind-driven rain, more frost, and long damp spells all shorten the life of a coating that was not put on properly.
That makes surface preparation and timing more important, not less. We will not open a tin if the surface is damp or the temperature is dropping below about eight degrees, and we plan exterior work here for settled spells rather than squeezing it in. Moving a start date by a week is a better outcome than a coating that never cures and starts lifting in the first hard frost.
Stone and rendered elevations, timber windows, doors, fascias and bargeboards make up most of the work, and north-facing walls almost always need treating for algae and moss before anything else happens.
Rotten timber is common on exposed elevations. As a Repair Care Approved Contractor we can usually rebuild the decayed section in place rather than you having to replace the whole window or board.
